On May 27, the Executive Power partially vetoed the bill that allows officials to rectify their sworn declarations of assets and income, and eliminated the role of the Comptroller General of the Republic (CGR), to report to the Public Ministry attributable cases.
The only article vetoed was article 14, which established the Comptroller’s duty to denounce in the event that the rectifications in the DDJJ are attributable.
The Senate could try that week this veto. However, for some legislators, there are many possibilities that what is determined by the national president will end up being approved, considering that, for its rejection, an absolute majority is needed (half plus one of the total number of legislators).

Celso Kennedy, national deputy for the Liberal Party (PLRA), pointed out that the legislators who approved the document are not interested in persecuting those who falsify their affidavits.
“The innocuous law is gone. He now returns to Congress after the veto. It no longer makes sense for any of the chambers to try to ratify in favor of the veto. I don’t think the numbers for the effect exist,” he commented.
He reported that to reject the veto, 41 votes are needed in the Chamber of Deputies and 23 in the Senate.
“The law was mutilated when it was modified. I don’t think it will prosper anymore, ”she concluded.

Celeste Amarilla, national deputy for the Liberal Party (PLRA), celebrated that the President of the Republic understood that he had the opportunity to do one thing well.
“He was able to make amends with the people by vetoing that law that is aimed at hiding ill-gotten assets and money. That, if the red inmate can help the country she helps, then they can hug each other if they want, ”he said.
He pointed out that this bill was one of many that disrespected the people who each have less work, less money, less education and less health.
The bill in question is the “That modifies various articles of Law 5,033/2,013, which regulates Article 104 of the National Constitution, of the sworn declaration of assets and income, assets and liabilities of public officials and repeals the law 6,355/2019”.
