“Since Wednesday I am in charge of the Office of the Government of Central, until May 5, or before, depending on what is happening,” Aguilera said in dialogue with Radio La Unión, recalling that, with 14 votes, the Board Central Department rejected the request for permission submitted by Hugo Javier.
In that order, he pointed out that, although in the Departmental Board there are 10 Colorado councilors, 10 Liberals and one from Patria Querida, they are divided into four benches, these two being Colorados, one made up of Liberals and the other by three Liberals and one Patriaqueridista.
He indicated that there is no exact number of possible candidates to succeed González. “There are no agreements between the same party benches, that’s why we don’t have numbers. From where you see him, there is not yet, ”he said.
Aguilera recalled that he was elected president of the Departmental Board with votes from all three parties. On the point, he asserted that he will talk with each of the sectors to see if he manages to be elected successor to Hugo Javier.
“On May 6, the Board must meet again to define the issue,” he said. Hugo Javier González, governor of Central, is being investigated by the Public Ministry for the alleged use of cloned invoices worth close to US$1,000,000, money that his administration had received from Congress as COVID funds.
