Hundreds of members of the LGBT community paraded yesterday along the Malecón, in celebration of the International Gay Pride Day, which is celebrated every June 28, an occasion used by the Volunteers to demand greater social equality in the country.

The LGBT Volunteers, chaired by Yimbert Féliz Telemín, demanded greater social equality through public policies. The LGBT community has more than 400,000 members, according to the 2010 census.

From 2006 to date, more than 49 homosexuals and trans have been murdered, without finding Justice according to Feliz Telemín. The celebration culminated in the Eugenio María de Hostos park, with the presentation of the urban artist known as La Perversa and other exponents of the genre.
