LGBTI activist Koddy Campos broadcast live on the social network Instagram on the night of August 9, that officials from the State Security Forces were trying to raid his home, located in La Vega, without a court order.

Campos told the official that he would not open the doors of his residence without a warrant. The activist also said that the window of his house was knocked down. “I call on the Attorney General not to allow this type of thing. We are losing all guarantees,” he said.

“If you don’t have any problems with the law, come down and talk to me,” the official told Campos. Campos replied that if they wanted to talk, “why did they knock down the window of your house?” The activist said that he has been a human rights defender for 16 years and that he has never had any problems with the law.

Journalist Vladimir Villegas joined the live broadcast, which lasted more than 30 minutes. By 11:00 pm the officers had left the house.

The human rights organization Provea issued a statement on Friday night, July 9, stating that “the policy of persecution in Venezuela continues.” “We remind that the home and all private premises of a person are inviolable. They may not be searched except by court order, Article 47 of the Constitution.”
