letter to the editor

La Paz, June 27, 2022

In consideration of your press release published on June 25 of this administration, at 7:18 p.m., entitled “Arce and Del Castillo break the silence and talk about the Nallar case on their social networks”, we state the following:

-Government Minister Eduardo del Castillo had scheduled a trip to the Republic of Paraguay, which became effective on Tuesday, June 21 at dawn, before what happened in the municipality of Porongo when three police officers were murdered.

– Both from his personal account, as well as from the institutional account of the Ministry of Government, he offered condolences to the bereaved families, on June 21, and also closely followed the official information provided by the Bolivian Police.

– A day later, on June 22, he continued with the work and reported the arrest of the main person responsible for this action, Misael Nallar. On June 25 and 26, he continued to inform the Bolivian people about the actions against the three people arrested.

In this sense, the president of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, Luis Arce, spoke about it on his social networks on June 21 and 25, so the note published by his media outlet is untrue, both the president as the minister spoke on the matter on several occasions.

We ask your well-known media outlet to take this information into account, always based on the journalistic criteria of one and the other and adherence to truthfulness.

Without another particular, I sincerely say goodbye

Jose Daniel Llorenti Rocha

Head of the Social Communication Unit of the Ministry of Government
