“Suddenly, Jesus warned them: Open your eyes and beware of both the Pharisees’ and Herod’s yeast. They said to each other: the truth is that we have no bread” Mc. 8:15-16
The passage that we are listening to today makes us realize how even when we were with Jesus closely, his own disciples did not understand what the Lord was saying to them. We see here that when he talks to them about being prepared and being cautious, they interpret it as the lack of bread to feed themselves. We too run the risk of not interpreting the messages that Jesus gives us when we are concerned about what is perishable or about our own interests. Let’s become aware of how important it is to cultivate closeness to Jesus and learn from him. Today let us have an open heart to his teachings and inspirations. Peace and good.
