The Department of Epidemiology of the Minsa indicates that in Panama 875,486 accumulated cases of Covid-19 have been registered to date, of which 1,692 are new positive cases today. No deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours, but a previous date is updated for 8,276 accumulated deaths and a lethality that decreases to 0.9%.
The total number of people recovered from the disease amounts to 841,184, of which 3,374 are newly recovered today. 8,233 tests were applied for a positivity of 20.6%.
Active cases total 26,026 throughout the country. 25,696 are in home isolation and 330 hospitalized. Those in isolation are divided into 25,660 at home and 36 in hotels. Those hospitalized are 293 in the Ward and 37 in the ICU.
The districts with the highest number of positive cases today are: Bella Vista, San Francisco and Betania with 59 houses one and José Domingo Espinar in San Miguelito with 49 cases.
The Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) reveals that to date they have applied 8,279,364 doses of vaccines against Covid-19; of them 3,479,153 first doses; 3,106,945 second dose and 1,588,594 first booster dose.
have been placed 430,559 pediatric doses to children between 5 and 11 years; of which 278,706 have been in the first dose for a coverage of 54.1%.
Coverage in the population older than 5 years is 87.6% with a first dose; and with a second dose 78.3%. Coverage in the first booster dose from the age of 16 is 50.6%.
