The Nicaraguan University Alliance (AUN), of which the young communicator is the leader, recalled this day through a brief publication on his Twitter account. “Today, Lesther Alemán, leader of our organization, AUN, has his birthday in a prison of the Sandinista dictatorship.”

“We hope that this is the last birthday that he is incarcerated and that the next one he can be with his family and friends and thus be able to achieve the long-awaited freedom of all political prisoners,” he added.
German was arrested on July 5, 2021 and the Public Ministry accused him of the crime of “conspiracy to undermine national integrity.”
