Less than 30% of Junín workers will benefit from an increase in the minimum wage

The increase in the minimum vital remuneration (RMV), which was 105 soles per month, must be applied from this month of January, at the national level. However, in the Junín region, less than 30% of workers will benefit from this new amount.

According to the regional director of Labor and Employment Promotion Junín, Diana Conde, more than 70% of the workers in the region belong to the informal sector, meaning that it is not likely that all of them will benefit from the increase in the RMV, which reached S/1130.

“According to the figures we obtain from the INEI (National Institute of Statistics and Informatics) it is that 70% of the economically active population are in the informal sector. In relation to the increase in the minimum wage, this will also depend on the type of contract and regime in which the employees are found, in this case it would be for 728 which is the private sector,” the official said.

In the event that employees have doubts about whether the increase in the minimum wage benefits them, they can consult the Regional Directorate of Labor and Employment Promotion (DRTPE) located on the corner of Alejandro O. Deústua and Arequipa streets. in El Tambo.

If the company fails to comply with the increase in the RMV of its employees, they can file their complaint with SUNAFIL, located in San Carlos, Huancayo.
