The results of the survey
When asked “How necessary do you think it is to carry out an electoral reform at this time: very necessary, somewhat necessary, not very necessary or not at all necessary?” There was a tie in the response “very necessary and somewhat necessary”. Only 19% considered it not very necessary and 15% not at all necessary.
Citizens also showed their willingness that less public resources be allocated to political parties. 52% of those surveyed were in favor, seven points above the telephone survey conducted by the INE last September.
There was also a relevant variation in the question “How much are you in favor of having only one national electoral body (which would imply the elimination of the Public Electoral Bodies)?”. While in the INEl survey 35% were in favor, in the Parametria exercise it rose to 52%.
Regarding the election of councilors in charge of citizens, between the INE survey and that of Morena, there is a difference in the response in favor, going from 54 to 62%.
The national leader of Morena, Mario Delgado, reported that the results of this survey will be sent to those calling for the march in defense of the INE to be held next Sunday.
“We are going to send the results of this survey to the organizers of the march because they think they can manipulate people’s opinion,” he said.
The party leader clarified that contrary to what the opposition has spread, Morena does not want the INE to disappear.
“They have set up a false campaign, of lies, of misinformation saying that Morena wants to attack democracy, and that she wants to make the INE disappear, that is false,” he stated.
