The opposition political leader in exile and national coordinator of Voluntad Popular, Leopoldo López, denounced that on the morning of this Saturday, October 22, a group of armed men, officials of the Bolivarian National Intelligence Service (Sebin), entered through the forced to his house located in Los Palos Grandes, Chacao municipality of Miranda state.
Through his Twitter account, López explained that a pickup truck entered and left the house loaded with family goods, “after forcing entry and bursting the wall.”

A pickup truck drove in and out laden with family property, after forcing entry and smashing through the wall.

He added that, “without any justification”, the commission kidnapped the security guard Rubén Briceño who was present at the time of the violent takeover of the building and it is not known where he is currently. “At this time the Sebin maintains the illegal occupation of the property,” he said.
López was sentenced to 13 years in prison after being prosecuted for the anti-government demonstrations of 2014. The first years of his sentence he was in the Ramo Verde prison, until in 2017 he was sentenced to house arrest.
After the uprising against Nicolás Maduro, which occurred on April 30, 2019, Leopoldo López managed to escape and took refuge in the Spanish Embassy in Caracas. Then, in October 2020, he went to Madrid. He is currently in exile in that nation.
