Leoni Torres shares Agustín Laje’s analysis on socialism in Cuba

MIAMI, United States. — Cuban singer-songwriter Leoni Torres shared this Thursday on social networks an analysis by Argentine writer and political scientist Agustín Laje on the failure of socialism in countries like Cuba and Venezuela.

“Cuba is miserable because of socialism because socialism, proven, destroys everything it touches,” said the Argentine influencer in his speech, an idea that was shared by Torres on his Twitter account. Instagram.

At another point in his speech, Laje also spoke about the imposition of socialism in countries with resources and prosperous economies, such as Venezuela.

“Venezuela is a very rich country and it is Cuba’s good apprentice. How has Venezuela ended after applying the socialist recipe?” Laje pointed out.

The Argentine writer also addressed the issue of embargo to Cuba, another of the topics manipulated by the propaganda of the island’s regime.

For Laje, the so-called “blockade” is nothing more than an embargo and recalled that it was applied by the United States after Fidel Castro ordered the expropriation of the American companies that operated in Cuba after the triumph of the Revolution in 1959.

Leoni Torres’ posts were supported by thousands of followers, mostly Cubans.

“You can say louder but not clearer”, commented the musician Emilio Frías, popularly known as “El Niño”.

In recent years, Leoni Torres has been one of the most critical artists against the island’s regime. The singer-songwriter, who now resides in the United States, was one of the first voices to condemn the repression against the protesters of July 11, 2021 (J11) when he was still in Cuba.

Torres also publicly defended the members of the San Isidro Movement (MSI) after the quartering that took place at the headquarters of that opposition group in November 2020, and which was repressed by the Cuban political police.
