Former president Leonel Fernández yesterday headed various activities in San Cristóbal, where he also swore in hundreds of followers in his party, Fuerza del Pueblo.
The president of the People’s Force (FP) swore in new political leaders in FP, who decided to form ranks in that political organization, as well as work for its development and institutional strengthening.
Fernández thanked those present for the decision taken, while urging them to work tirelessly for the People’s Force, since it represents the best interests of the country and all its citizens. The swearing-in ceremony was held at the Ciro Pérez de San Cristóbal Club. Among the jurors, the following stand out: the mayor of the municipal district “El Pueblito”, Edward Garabito; the former PLD deputies and former members of the Central Committee, Alexis Sánchez and Josefina Tamárez, and the pastor Yajaira Medina Sánchez, president of the “Mujeres Unidas de Hato Dama” movement.
In the morning, the president of the People’s Force swore in dozens of leaders in the municipal district of Carril. The new members are the councilor Carlos Núñez and the former mayoral candidate for the Reform Party Elvis Rosario.
He also held a meeting with directors of the Avocado Cluster in the municipality of Cambita, with whom he talked about the importance of strengthening the production of that fruit in that province and others in the country, since this product has become one of the main foods from all over Latin America and several European countries.
Also, he met with the main authorities of the San Cristóbal Chamber of Commerce. There he spoke about the main challenges faced by medium and micro entrepreneurs, as well as the main obstacles they face when undertaking new projects. The conversation included the topic of citizen insecurity.
