The former President of the Republic, Leonel Fernandezvisit Puerto Rico this weekend, where he will speak on the subject of Global economy and the development of SMEs for both Caribbean territories.
This was announced this Thursday in a press release by the United Center of Retailers (CUD) of Puerto Ricoorganizer of the event, which will take place from tomorrow to next Sunday at the Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve Hotel, in Rio Grande (northeast).
Fernández will speak on the Global economy and the development of SMEs to Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic during a business lunch next Saturday, said the president of the CUD, Jesús Vázquez Rivera, in the statement.
“The visit of the former president Leonel Fernandez occurs at a special juncture, in which Puerto Rico needs to generate new wealth, but, at the same time, we lack mentoring to face problems that, undoubtedly, Dominicans have been able to overcome,” said Vázquez Rivera.
“The crisis in the generation and distribution of energy, for example, is one of those problems that the Dominican Republic overcame a long time ago and about which we hope to hear from our honorable guest,” he added.
The CUD, in turn, will hold its annual membership meeting next Sunday, in which they will choose the members of the board, directors and the new president.
