Saint Christopher. – The former president of the Republic and leader of the People’s Force (PF), Leonel Fernandezaccused this Sunday the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) to plunge the country into a crime wave that keeps the population in a permanent state of fear and insecurity.

“A country where we have all become hostages, we cannot go out at night because we fear being victims of an assault. Crime has spread everywhere,” said Leonel Fernández.

The opposition leader regretted that the daily life of Dominican families is marked by fear of robberies, robberies and other crimes that occur at any time of the day. In that sense, he stated that the current government management has failed in its promise to guarantee citizen securityattributing the increase in violence to the lack of planning and effective public policies.

Fernández also questioned the deficiencies in basic services, pointing out that many communities in the country still lack drinking water due to poor government management.
