SANTO DOMINGO.-After addressing thousands of young people who attended the great patriotic youth march this Monday, organized by the youth of the party Town Forcethe president of that organization, Leonel Fernandezguaranteed that, regardless of the challenges, disappointments and threats, “there will always be a Dominican Republic at the service of the best interests of the Dominican people.”
“Today we have challenges of a different nature, there are those who have dared, from outside, to demand that we modify our Constitution to establish a system of granting nationality that we Dominicans are not willing to cede,” said Leonel.
Fernández added, later, that “we will not give in to the pressure that we have refugees in the Republic, but we decide based on our own patriotic and national will.”
The president of the Fuerza del Pueblo spoke at the Altar de la Patria, where thousands of young people from that party gathered to revere the founding fathers of the nation, on the occasion of the celebration of National Youth Day.
Fernández took advantage of the stage to recall the phrase of the patrician Juan Pablo Duarte that “no matter how desperate the cause of the Dominican Republic may be, it will always be the cause of honor and we will be willing to seal it with blood, giving our lives for the survival of the Republic”.

In this way, the political leader rejected the attempts to set up refugee centers in national territory.
Fernández, who was three times president of the Republic, continued citing Duarte’s thought, when he said: “Living without a country is the same as living without honor”, adding that this is how “this new generation of the Republic” understands it.
He also stressed that “old challenges persist for youth, poverty, inequality, illiteracy, drug addiction, crime, marginality, together with the perennial challenges of the past, there are also challenges of the future, which we are willing to overcome ”.

“We are deeply proud of the Dominican youth,” said the president of the People’s Force, to ensure that “the youth have always been at the forefront of the great heroic struggles for the independence, freedom, and democracy of the Dominican people.”
Fernández stressed that “young people, as a new generation, have always been the engine of change in every society, especially in the Dominican Republic, and at this time that same impulse is required.”
The patriotic demonstration, organized by the People’s Youth Force, began in the Parque Colón, toured El Conde street, to the Altar de la Patria, on the occasion of the month of the Patria and National Youth Day.
The Youth Secretary of the People’s Force, José Ernesto Abud, read a proclamation, on behalf of the youth of his party, establishing that they assume the principles and values of Juan Pablo Duarte, promoting cultural and artistic development among Dominican youth.
“The Youth Force of the People appears before the Republic to renew the imperishable vows of love and our oath to continue forging the redemptive work of Juan Pablo Duarte and the Trinitarians,” he said.
“Fuerza Joven del Pueblo will continue together with the youth promoting their training for the generation of wealth and eliminating poverty,” he advocated, at the same time, for the arrest of the spiral of poverty with the training of young people and their incorporation into the productive apparatus. national, in a government that is not exclusive, like the current one.
