Coach Dorival Júnior called up, this Saturday (9), defender Léo Ortiz, from Flamengo, and striker Gabriel Martinelli, from Arsenal (England), to replace defender Éder Militão and striker Rodrygo, both from Real Madrid (Spain) , in the next matches of the Brazilian team in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.
Militão and Rodrygo were injured in Real Madrid’s 4-0 victory over Osasuna, this Saturday in the Spanish Championship. The defender suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), while the attacker suffered an injury to his right thigh, the severity of which has not yet been confirmed by the Spanish team.
Next Monday (11), the players called up for the next commitments of the Brazilian team will begin their preparation. On November 14th, Brazil will face Venezuela at the Monumental stadium in Maturin, and on the 19th the Canarian team will face Uruguay at the Arena Fonte Nova, in Salvador.
