The Assembly approved the Draft Resolution that provides for the immediate return to Ecuador of former President Lenín Moreno.
Today night, Tuesday, November 23, 2021, the assembly members approved the Draft Resolution that provides for the immediate return to Ecuador of the former president Lenin Moreno. The Project was proposed by Fausto Jarrín and was approved by 100 assembly members.
On November 18, 2021, the deadline for Moreno, who ended his term on May 23, 2021, was completed, to return to the country.

Among Moreno’s open investigations is the INA Papers case. He was summoned by the Assembly in September, but excused himself: “judicial investigations must be processed in the pertinent instances and not for initiatives that have political spectacles as their purpose,” the ex-president wrote on Twitter.
