This week, in the plenary of the Parliamentary Group of Morena, Juan Carlos and other legislators, such as Jessica Ramírez, of Veracruz, expressed their discomfort due to alleged ill -treatment received from Montiel.
The meeting was private, but the audios of their expressions transcended, in which they questioned a despotic attitude, rejected to receive or allow state officials to receive legislators, and according to Irma Juan Carlos, cases of corruption in indigenous areas of Oaxaca.
A large group of legislators, who were estimated to exceed 50, applauded the requests made to the coordinator of the deputies of Morena, Ricardo Monreal, to raise the president Claudia Sheinbaum the removal of Montiel.
However, after disseminating their names, and given the rejection expressed today in the morning by Sheinbaum to remove Montiel, the protest of the legislators was reduced.
Legislator Irma Juan Carlos ruled out that President Claudia Sheinbaum has reconvened or put a “stay still.”
He argued that there is no lawsuit and it is only different expressions within a party. “Remember that we build a democratic movement where voices tell,” he said.
This, he insisted, “it is rather a matter of democracy where we all talk, we are all heard and well, in this case, as I tell you again, we expect the talk with the secretary.”
Since he assumed as a deputy in the 64th Legislature, Irma Juan Carlos has been characterized by being a hard line, of which they shout and shut up to opposition legislators, to the degree that he was seen in the middle of a procedure before the Ethics Committee for having scratched a deputy of National Action (PAN).
That happened at the end of 2018, when the 2019 Expenditure Budget was discussed, and motivated that it was the first case analyzed by the Ethics Committee of the Chamber of Deputies, before the complaint filed by the PAN Ana Paola López, who denounced the scratches and evidenced that in the message of Chat the Morenista allegedly threatened her.
The process did not prosper and there were no sanctions.
