The Committee on Petitions, Powers and Regulations, headed by Senator Javier Zacarías Irún, held its regular meeting with the purpose of discussing and ruling on various legislative proposals.
At the meeting, the draft Resolution that “Modifies article 11 of the Internal Regulations of the Honorable Chamber of Senators” was discussed, presented by Senator Fernando Silva Facetti, this document was ruled by approval.
REPORT REQUESTS
Likewise, senators Carlos Filizzola, Esperanza Martínez, Hugo Richer, Miguel Fulgencio Rodríguez, Jorge Querey, Pedro Santa Cruz and Sixto Pereira, reiterated the request for a report from the Social Security Institute (IPS), on job dismissals in the health area.
In the same sense, the legislators reiterated a request for a report from the Executive Branch – Ministry of Public Works and Communications – Vice Ministry of Transportation, on compliance with Law No. 6,556/2020 ‘That modifies Law No. 3,365/2007 ‘That exonerates people with visual disabilities (blind) from the payment of the ticket in land transport”. On both documents, the members of this legislative instance advised the approval.
In addition, the project “Reiterating the request for a report from the Municipal Board of Asunción on the widening of the Transchaco route in the Tte. Gregorio Villalba, Loma Pytá neighborhood”, presented by senators Carlos Filizzola, Esperanza Martínez, Fernando Lugo, Hugo Richer, Miguel Fulgencio Rodríguez, Jorge Querey, Pedro Arthuro Santa Cruz and Sixto Pereira.
On the other hand, Senator Juan Afara, presented the request for a report to the “National Council of Higher Education (CONES), on the Guairá Private University – Obligado subsidiary, Itapúa department”. This proposal was approved by this Advisory Commission.
Likewise, the draft Resolution requesting a report from the “Executive Power – National Secretariat of Culture, on administrative, budgetary aspects and issues related to National Cultural Heritage” was discussed and approved, presented by Senator Blanca Ovelar.
DRAFT DECLARATION
During the meeting, they also studied the draft Declaration by which the “Honorable Chamber of Senators declares of Cultural Interest the project ‘Creation of the Cinematheque of Paraguay’, presented by Senator Gilberto Apuril. On this point, the approval of this document was advised.
The same favorable opinion received the draft Declaration by which the “Honorable Chamber of Senators recognizes the relevant career of Dr. Ramón Fogel Pedrozo, for his contribution in the field of Social Sciences, in the field of Scientific Research and for his tireless sociological work for the development of the country and against inequality”, presented by senators Sixto Pereira, Hugo Richer, Carlos Filizzola, Miguel Fulgencio Rodríguez, Esperanza Martínez and Jorge Querey. Also, it was ruled by the approval of the draft Declaration “That declares of National Interest the 20th “International Contest of Dorado and Varied Fishing with Return”, presented by Senator Oscar Salomón.
Finally, Senator José Ledesma presented the draft Declaration “Declaring the television program called ‘Tereré Jeré’ to be of “National and Cultural Interest”.
