Legislators approve Budget 2023 opinion with greater cuts to the self-employed

the discussion

For Morena, the only voice with a different nuance was that of Guerrero deputy Almílcar Sandoval, who faced the opposition.

“They don’t even have alternatives, they don’t have proposals, they didn’t even do the circus they did the year before when they wanted to present some alternative budget sheets,” he criticized.

He also rejected that Morena approves what a single man, the president, tells him, because the project “is collective.”

“There is a record of 414,000 million in social spending and when social programs are universal they cannot be used electorally; yes, when they are targeted as before,” he reviewed.

“Children’s stays, the usual song” but they will have 3,000 million pesos and will be delivered directly to working mothers, he said.

Instead, the opposition came together again to vote against, and National Action (PAN), Institutional Revolutionary (PRI), the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD) and Citizen Movement (MC) rejected the opinion put on the table.

They anticipated hundreds of reservations, -perhaps 2,000- so the session of the Chamber of Deputies to discuss and approve the PEF 2023, which is scheduled for tomorrow, is expected to last four or more days to vent all the observations on the opinion budget 2023.

However, 4T legislators announced that they will not endorse any of their reservations.

“We do not want to approve a single one of their reservations because simply and simply they want to put the opposition’s agenda on top of the agenda of the fourth transformation. We listen to them, but we are going to apply the vote to them now, tomorrow and as many times as necessary, ”warned PT member Benjamín Robles.

In the debate, PAN member Héctor Saúl Téllez denounced that although the deputies endorse the budget, the Secretary of the Treasury will repeat what it did in 2022, since it made multimillion-dollar “discretionary” budget movements that modified 60% of the allocations approved by the Chamber. .

“The budget approval is a simulation,” he accused.

It also showed that more than 500,000 million pesos will be for mega-projects:

“Maya Train will have a 127% growth in its spending compared to 2022, the refinery supposedly inaugurated 43,000 million pesos and the airport 900 million pesos. Resources are injected to make it work, but in red numbers,” he accused.

This -said PRD member Miguel Torres- is “a crude simulation of sovereignty and exercise of division of powers. They announce that adjustments were made to the initiative sent by the president using the authority we have. Not even that, the instruction was take away from the self-employed and put more money into social programs.

José Francisco Yunes Zorrilla, from the PRI, also evidenced “we are only taking away from the autonomous bodies. We do not allow ourselves to reallocate a single peso for highways, the countryside, education, health for the programs of the administrative branches! I believe that this is not the work of the deputies nor do we exercise our power when we are practically subtracting it, diverting resources from what has nothing to do with the Executive, ”he reproached.

“Why so much open parliament if they didn’t put a billion pesos more to the IMSS? Why do they tell people with disabilities that they are going to give them more money but they don’t give anything to the rehabilitation hospitals? They can’t even walk in the streets or use wheelchairs,” accused PAN member Margarita Zavala.
