In less than a year, 43 laws were enacted in the department of Santa Cruz. That is one of the reports exposed in the ‘Final Public Rendering of Accounts, corresponding to the period between May and December of Management 2021′ of the Departmental Legislative Assembly (ALD) of Santa Cruz, the result of which was brought to light this Monday, April 25.
The president of the ALD, Zvonko Matkovic Ribera, stated that eIt is the first time that the Departmental Legislative Assembly, in its 12 years of existence, is accountable to the public.
“Never in the history of this Departmental Legislative Assembly of Santa Cruz a total of 43 laws were sanctioned in a single year. This can be contrasted with efforts where in a calendar year, only 16 laws were approved,” Matkovic said.
Likewise, a record was recorded in inspection work, including 164 report requests, according to the president of the ALD.
For his part, the Senior Official of the Assembly, Andrés Núñez, reported that a 92.36% of the budget, considering as a “quite high” execution percentage, taking into account that this management was assumed almost in the middle of 2021.
Matkovic also added that the vast majority of the laws covered in the Legislative Assembly are of competence development that will provide legal certainty so that the people of Santa Cruz have better health -as in the case of the Montero Hospital-, further economic development, with initiatives such as the ‘Investment Promotion Law through Public-Private Partnerships’ or the ‘Santa Cruz 4.0 Economy Transformation’; or better quality of life, such as the ‘Law for the Promotion of the Elderly’.
However, there are also other issues that are observed within AML such as revocation of the mandate of the representative of the Ayoreo people, Giliana Etacore.
