Santo Domingo. – The Reference Coalition of the Dominican Left (RID) showed its rejection before the visit of the opponent of the Venezuelan government Edmundo Gonzalez to the Dominican Republic, which will meet with a commission of former Latin American leaders with President Luis Abinader on January 9.

“The RID rejects and declares unwelcome the presence of Edmundo González Urrutia and his cohort of right-wing and fascists who intend to use Dominican territory as an area of provocation,” the letter reads.
Likewise, they qualify as meddling that the “United States through the government of the Dominican Republic” are present in the internal affairs of Venezuela, which in turn they consider a violation of the Constitution.
The Coalition assured that the visit of Gonzalez It is an act of “desperation and provocation at the possibility of winning the July 28 elections through legal means.”
“The intentions of that meeting are to conspire against the legitimate government of President Nicolás Maduro Moros and the Bolivarian Revolution led by Commander Hugo Chávez Frías,” the RID statement cites.
Nicolás Maduro is expected to assume a new presidential term for the period 2025-2031 on Friday January 10.
