The Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti, headed this Wednesday a meeting of the Federal Health Council (Cofesa), which brings together her peers from all provinces, to analyze the epidemiological situation due to the coronavirus pandemic and advances in vaccination, together with to issues related to mental health and medication policy, according to official sources.
In the meeting, which began at 8 in the San Martín Palace, the Undersecretary of Health Strategies, Juan Manuel Castelli, and the Director of Epidemiology, Carlos Giovaccini, also participate.
Both officials will address the current epidemiological situation and vaccination, which the Government considers crucial for the start of the school year.
While, A joint meeting between Cofesa and the Federal Education Council (CFE) is scheduled for Thursday to define the Safe Classroom protocol for the initial, primary and secondary levels for the start of the school year, which will include recommendations in the context of the pandemic.
Other topics of this Wednesday’s meeting will be the approach to mental health from a federal perspective, by the Undersecretary for Management of Services and Institutes, Edith Benedetti; and the situation of the Decentralized Management Public Hospitals (HPGD), which will be addressed by the Undersecretary for Quality, Regulation and Supervision, Alejandro Costa.
What’s more, The ministers will analyze the national medicine policy and agreements between the Bank of Drugs and the provinces, which will be dealt with by the Undersecretary of Medicines and Strategic Information, Natalia Grinblat.
On the other hand, Senator Pablo Yedlin will speak on the Public Health bill contemplated in the extraordinary sessions of Congress.
Lastly, the director of Anlis-Malbrán, Pascual Fidelio, will explain the advances in the federal distribution of genomics equipment.
