2Q | 51 min: game over and Timão win! Playing well, scoring a goal and imposing himself at home. I’M HAPPY AND IT’S NOT LITTLE!

The result took Timão to ten points, at the top of Group A, five points ahead of vice-leader Inter de Limeira. Leão remains with eight points, in second place in Group C, two points behind Palmeiras, who have one game less. The top two in each of the four first-phase brackets advance to the quarter-finals.
The score was built in the initial stage. At 18 minutes, Renato Augusto scored with midfielder Giuliano and kicked from outside the area. The ball deflected the defender Lucão and got in the way of goalkeeper Darley, who could do nothing. At 23, Pará took a corner from the left and also side Rodrigo Ferreira, with a header, left everything the same. Six minutes later, Renato Augusto launched Fagner from the right. The winger leaned into the area and midfielder Paulinho appeared to finish, putting Timão in front and decreeing the end of Mirassol’s unbeaten run.
Leão returns to the field on Sunday (13), at 11 am (Brasília time), against Inter de Limeira, at the Major Levy Sobrinho stadium, in Limeira (SP), for the sixth round of Paulistão. With the classic against Palmeiras postponed, due to Verdão being in the Club World Cup, Corinthians will play only next Wednesday (16), at 9:30 pm, again at home, with São Bernardo, for the seventh round of the State Championship.
