LectoFest, a space to discover everything you can read

LectoFest, a space to discover everything you can read

Because reading is not just about turning pages, the University of the Americas Puebla (UDLAP) invites high school students and the general public to experience LectoFest, an encounter that breaks with the traditional idea of reading and transforms it into a creative, sensory experience full of new ways of interpreting the world.

Under the concept “Everything you can read”, LectoFest will be a space to discover stories that are told through images, sounds, textures, reliefs and words, so that whoever attends can awaken their curiosity, learn about new narratives and connect with ideas, emotions and people, demonstrating that reading is also listening, observing, feeling and imagining.

LectoFest offers fourteen totally free activities in two different modalities:

Hybrid activities

The eight hybrid activities of the LectoFest invite you to live reading from creative and current experiences that range from musical reading to the promotion of critical reading, imagination and ethical analysis through Afrofuturist literature and artificial intelligence.

This modality also offers activities that cover topics such as learning other languages, reading poetry, analyzing literacy processes, as well as a comics creation workshop. Added to this is Sense in Construction, a dynamic exercise that demonstrates that translating is interpreting and giving meaning beyond words.

In-person activities

For those who attend the UDLAP campus, this festival will offer six diverse activities, including a reading aloud club, the use of artificial intelligence and other language technologies applied in games and the braille system. Also, they will be able to participate in an escape room-style activity where they must solve a series of challenges based on linguistic phenomena that will lead them step by step towards the final solution of the enigma. There will also be a discussion table on the relevance of literary genres such as horror and gothic, and a literary workshop.

LectoFest will be held this January 23, 2026 starting at 12:00 p.m. and you only need to register your participation.
