The National Institute for the Defense of Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property (Indecopi) gave to Glory Milk the authorization to acquire all the shares representing the capital stock of NABs SAC, “San Mateo” mineral water business, from the Union of Peruvian Breweries Backus y Johnston SAA and Backus Marcas & Patentes. This decision marks a milestone in strengthening the Peruvian company’s beverage portfolio.
With the approval of Indecopi, an important step has been taken so that Leche Gloria SA can assume the comprehensive operation of the company and its brand in the near future, thereby expanding its offer in the mineral water category, where San Mateo has solid recognition for its purity, origin and quality.
In this regard, Cristiano Sampaio, general manager of Gloria, highlighted this operation and the commitment they have to giving the best to their consumers.
“This operation reflects our commitment to continue diversifying our categories with brands of high value for the Peruvian consumer. San Mateo is a unique icon in its segment, and at Gloria we seek to enhance it with innovation, efficiency and sustainability,” he indicated.
Likewise, it was reported that the dairy company will later communicate the details of the closing of the takeover transaction and its plans to enhance the growth of the brand, reaffirming its commitment to the beverage industry in the country and the development of Peruvian brands with international standards.
