Regarding the 81st anniversary of Lebanon’s independence, Ambassador Elías Lebbos, accompanied by Foreign Minister Yván Gil, placed a wreath before the sarcophagus of the Liberator Simón Bolívar.
The solemn ceremony took place at the Monumental Complex and Mausoleum of the Liberator, where the Juan José Landaeta martial band performed the anthems of Lebanon and Venezuela.
Representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Venezuela, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, were present at the event.
It should be noted that the Republic of Lebanon, which was under the rule of France, achieved its independence in 1943, establishing a political system where various religious communities coexist.
Lebanon is currently facing attacks in the south by the Israeli government, which has caused more than 3,400 deaths and more than 15,000 injuries.
The Venezuelan government has consistently shown its solidarity with the Middle Eastern nation.
