The Administrative Service for Immigration and Immigration Identification (Saime) published the prices for the processing of ordinary and authorized passports. The costs range from 120 to 350 dollars, that is, between 6,308 to 18,399 bolivars according to the exchange rate of the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV) this Friday, January 3, of 52.57 Bs/$.
The cost of obtaining the mandatory document to travel to other countries has become difficult for the majority of Venezuelans, where approximately 16.9 million Venezuelans receive up to 300 dollars per month. While the minimum wage remains at 130 bolivars, equivalent to 2.47 dollars.
On the other hand, the State is the main employer in the country with a payroll of 2.5 million active workers, although it is added to retirees and pensioners who reach more than four million. Approximately 35% of employees receive a salary of less than $100, including workers in the education and health sectors.
Through its social networks, Saime reported that the costs of the ordinary and qualified passport in its different categories were established as follows:
Ordinary passport:
– From three months to three years of age: 120 dollars.
– From three years to 17 years of age and 11 months: $164.
– Over 18 years of age: $216.
For its part, the authorized passport has a higher cost, since it is delivered within 48 hours, according to the agency.
Passport enabled:
– From three months to three years of age: $290.
– From three years to 17 years of age and 11 months: $310.
– Over 18 years of age: $350.
Saime pointed out that the ordinary passport process is carried out through the website www.saime.gob.ve and the waiting time ranges between 8 and 15 days.
While the authorized passport is also requested on the agency’s portal and is processed at the Simón Bolívar office, located in the Torres del Silencio in Caracas.
