19 members of the Alianza del Lápiz in Apure sent a letter to the National Council of the party, in which they pointed out their disagreements, including the visit to the Miraflores Palace by Antonio Ecarri, president of the awning; also in this they communicate their separation from the organization
Leaders of the Alianza del Lápiz in Apure separate from the political organization in “rejection of the political leadership and lines of action that it has taken the match”; also because of his position before the primary elections to choose a single candidate for the 2024 presidential elections and because of the visit of Antonio Ecarri, president of the party, to the Miraflores Palace, to meet with President Nicolás Maduro.
Through a letter addressed to the National Pencil Council, 19 members of the organization in Apure, including regional political secretaries, the head of organization and the head of electoral affairs; they manifested their resignation; also the hope that the national leadership and directive “adopt new practices, taking corrective measures for their own political survival.”

“We are not in a position to ignore the popular clamor that opts for the development of a primary election process as a mechanism for the selection of a unitary leadership, which is prepared to confront the Nicolás Maduro regime prior to the concert of all Venezuelans in a few open elections where popular sovereignty is expressed”, they indicate in the letter.

On the other hand, they point out that the Alianza del Lápiz is handled “in an antagonistic and distant way” to “arbitrariness, the kidnapping of information, authoritarianism, impositions and centralism.”
“We are committed to democracy, decentralization, federalism, respect for the citizen. However, in Praxis, the political organization is managed in an antagonistic and distant way to these principles”, they accuse.
About the meeting, held on December 7 at the Miraflores Palace, between the president, national secretary general and national secretary of Electoral Control of the Pencil Alliance, Antonio Ecarri, Eric Ondarroa and Mayerling Occhino, respectively; the leaders of Apure revealed that they were not informed of this appointment: “our opinion matters very little or not at all. This authoritarian management cannot be admitted by any regional leader”.
José Ángel Jiménez, regional head of the party in Apure; Douglas Vargas, head of organization; Johan Enrique Hernández, responsible for Electoral Affairs; Adriana Carolina Lugo, Head of Training; Johander Gamarra, head of New Generation; and Elio Héctor Flores, responsible for Education; are some of the signatories of the letter, dated February 17, 2023.
