Leaders of the opposition alliance endorse unity in the face of AMLO's electricity reform

That’s why there was an alert. The parliamentary coordinators of the three parties of the opposition alliance, Rubén Moreira, of the PRI, Jorge Herrera, of National Action (PAN), and Ángel Espinosa Cházaro met in private and assured that the alliance remains firm, and that they will present their opposition proposal on Tuesday.

Hours after Mendoza Bustamante presented his initiative, the PRI caucus distanced itself from it, since it was presented “in a personal capacity and does not represent the position of this caucus or the national leadership of this political institute.”

However, Mendoza is not just any deputy. In addition to deputy secretary of the national presidency of that party, that is, of the national leader Alejandro Moreno Cárdenas, he is deputy coordinator of the PRI caucus in the Chamber of Deputies and close to both the national leader and the coordinator of the deputies, Rubén Moreira.

Later still, the PRI lowered his proposal, registered in the session of the Chamber of Deputies this Thursday.

“On instructions from the National Executive Committee (CEN) of the PRI) and Alejandro Moreno, president of this political institute, deputy Mendoza withdrew the initiative of his authorship that reformed and added articles 25, 27 and 28 of the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States, in electrical matters”, reported the PRI caucus.

They accuse PRI-MOR agreement

Citizen Movement (MC) and its coordinator of deputies, Jorge Álvarez Máynez, assured that with the proposal of the PRI member Mendoza Bustamante, the PRI-MOR alliance was configured and the nerve is “incredible” due to the coincidences between both proposals in electrical matters.

Among those that were pointed out by the emecista, it is worth establishing that the control of the national electrical system corresponds to the nation and consists of generating, producing, transforming, distributing and supplying electrical energy and including electrical energy as a human right.
