A group of political leaders announced that they are leaving the People’s Force to present the new proposal called “Citizen Power Party.”
The platform, which also integrates leaders of other political organizations, is chaired by Lizamavel Collado.
During the launch of the “Citizen Power Party” proposal, Collado stated that with this act the construction of a new political party begins that aims to be a new way of doing politics.
“Citizen Power not only arises as a detachment from the People’s Force because we are tired of the old politics and the same vices and baseness; We are also leaving that party, because we have a different vision of how politics should be done from the opposition,” said the former leader of Fuerza del Pueblo.
He pointed out that this will be “a new party where people feel represented, so that its members can contribute new ideas and be heard.”
“A new party to leave behind the old politics, the one that has kept the country behind, because it encourages rings, claques and closes the doors to talent and youth,” he said.
Collado maintained that this new party seeks to “leave behind the culture that applauds the politician who lies, who deceives, who puts people in circles to not solve or solve anything, lacking dignity.”
He explained that a large part of the leadership team of Poder Ciudadano began in politics through the Dominican Liberation Party, where many accumulated a membership and leadership between 20 and 30 years of age to later found Fuerza del Pueblo. He said that they are a platform led by young politicians, academics, intellectuals, businessmen and social leaders.
