Lara indicated that 52 people were chosen to form the CEN of AD, while he reproached the execution of any act of violence. She added that his party is “mounted” in the presidential race, although she did not say if they will go to the primaries.
Clever Lara, national secretary of organization of the Acción Democrática (AD) party of the faction led by Bernabé Gutiérrez, highlighted this Monday, June 13, that during the weekend the internal election was held in the white awning to renew the Board of Directors , Gutiérrez being ratified at the head of the party’s national secretariat.
In an interview to GlobovisionLara reiterated that the internal process of that faction was carried out after 21 years of maintaining the same board of directors and limited that it could be carried out, “not by the mandate of the Supreme Court of Justice”, but because “there was a rush” to update the charges in order to work harder to strengthen democracy.
He assured that the party under the leadership of Bernabé Gutiérrez maintains an “open door” policy so that everyone who wants to join the military there can do so, including many leaders of the other faction of AD. In this sense, he highlighted that the leader of the awning, Leomagno Flores, joined this organization and is now the “honorary president” and is part of the CEN.
Lara commented that along with him, Bernabé Gutiérrez and Flores, there are 52 other people who make up the Democratic Action CEN, including Rubén Lima, Nixon Maniglia, Horangel Salas, Jesús Brito, Óscar Pulido, José Gregorio Ruiz, José Gregorio Correa, Óscar Ronders, among others.

He asserted that this party “is mounted on the presidential path” in the face of 2024, but did not say if it would participate in a primaries. However, he commented that they believe in the vote and in democracy, since they hope that a new president can be chosen through the channels established for it.
Clever Lara said that the party to which he belongs is on the side of Venezuelans and seeks to meet their needs, highlighting that support has been given to the union sectors and workers in general in order to improve their quality of life.
In his opinion, Venezuela “has not been fixed” but has currently had “a break” after several years of suffocation, for which he stressed that the Executive must continue to change the line so that improvements are allowed that include legal security and investment, both foreign and national, where the State can monitor that companies do not harm Venezuelans.
Regarding the attacks suffered by Juan Guaidó, recognized by a part of the international community as president in charge of Venezuela, the AD leader said that they categorically reject violence “wherever it comes from” and called on political factors to maturity and understanding.
