The lead singer of the band Calcinha Preta, Paulinha Abelha, died today (23) at 19:26 at Hospital Primavera, in Aracaju. Paula de Menezes Nascimento Leca Viana was 43 years old and, according to the hospital, the singer died as a result of a multisystem disorder. 
“In the last 24 hours, he presented an important aggravation of neurological lesions, verified on MRI, and associated with deep coma. A diagnostic protocol for brain death was then initiated, which confirmed the hypothesis after specific clinical and complementary exams”, says a statement from the hospital.
Paulinha Abelha had been hospitalized at the Primavera Hospital since February 17, under the care of the medical teams of intensive care, neurology and infectology.
On Wednesday night, the President of the Republic, Jair Bolsonaro, lamented the singer’s night on his social networks. “Our forró feels today a great loss with the passing of the singer Paulinha Abelha, one of the great names of the legendary band Calcinha Preta. Our condolences and solidarity with the singer’s family, friends and fans. May God comfort everyone’s hearts with his infinite love!” the president wrote.
