Six lawyers who had to appear at the preliminary hearing of the case New Business did not appear before the Public Ministry, so the hearing for this Wednesday, May 19, was suspended.

Two of the lawyers presented disabilities; while four were absent without reason, for this reason the authorities imposed a fine of $100 on each one.

“The four lawyers who did not present formal excuses will be sanctioned,” said prosecutor Emeldo Márquez, noting that public defenders were assigned for the next hearing in case the main lawyers do not show up.

At the hearing, which was scheduled from July 4 to 6, 2022, the Public Ministry will request the call to trial of 21 people.

Let us remember that the New Business case is based on the purchase of a social communication medium, for an amount that exceeds $43 million dollars, of which $9 million 20 thousand in shares have been recovered.
