The lawyer Roberto Ruiz Díaz, promoter of the revocation of the mandate of the capital’s mayor José Luis Fábrega, asked the Plenary of the Electoral Court (TE) to order the restitution of the emails with the daily reports of the number of signatories who attend this process .

Ruiz Díaz’s request comes after, in his opinion, there were inconsistencies with the number of signatories reported by the Electoral Tribunal and the number that reached him through social networks.

“Since Friday and Saturday morning, the emails that were sent to me with the daily reports of the firms began to be suppressed and eliminated,” he said, explaining that this is due to the fact that they presented a public complaint in relation to the fact that on May 25 in two reports 10 hours apart, no registered signature appeared and through social networks they were sent reports of people who had signed, so the reports sent were false.

Ruíz said that given the little activity they have seen in the Electoral Prosecutor’s Office, they will file formal complaints with the Public Ministry so that this entity is in charge of carrying out the pertinent investigations in these cases where important information is being omitted so that the recall process continues.

On May 11, the promoter of the revocation of Mayor Fábrega’s mandate, had made the request to restore the emails of the signatures.
