A year ago, Law 81 came into force, which refers to the protection of personal data, so the lawyer specializing in Digital Law, Lía Hernández, referred to it, stating that the problem is how you make use of that information, in what way and for what purposes.
He added that this law cannot be seen as an obstacle to the use of data. “Let’s see this law as a recommendation for good practices to treat personal data, without violating the fundamental right of the individual, which is privacy,” she said.
He explained that Law 81 indicates a series of exclusions in terms of the scope of application of the law, and some of those exclusions is the subject of data that is in the public domain: call it the Public Registry, the Civil Registry.
