Jesús Poma, lawyer for the non-commissioned officer Felix Montalvoassured that his sponsor transferred the president Dina Boluarte to a condominium in the Asia resort with another person who was her relative, according to what the president said.
However, in dialogue with RPP, he acknowledged that there is a contradiction because the head of state, in her last Message to the Nation, stated that she went with a friend.
“In fact there are contradictions and we remain in the position that we have declared from the beginning, that when the transfer was made they told him that he was a relative. Montalvo maintains his position and has to be ratified with the ‘Shadow’ version (the main assistant of the dignitary). My client is telling the truth,” he said in Trial by Fire.
According to what the lawyer stated, the non-commissioned officer never changed his version of the events nor did he receive anything in exchange for modifying his statement before the Prosecutor’s Office. Given this, he rejected the criticism of Juan Burgos, president of the Inspection Commission against Félix Montalvo.
“They are whimsical versions, actually gaseous, because they do not know how the file was carried out. If we review the file and the statement of my client, Petty Officer Montalvo, we can determine that from the beginning he has indicated that he took the dignitary to a condominium, which was later revealed by the media to be Mykonos. What’s more, we requested the reconstruction of the events,” he told the aforementioned media.
The lawyer was confident that the contradictions will dissipate when the statements of all the police officers who participated in the transfer of President Boluarte in February are collected.
