The lawyer Elio Rierawho has legally defended characters like Alberto Fujimori or Andrés Hurtado ‘Chibolín’, has been temporarily disabled in its functions by disposition of the Judiciary.
The First Court of Preparatory Investigation Specialized in Crimes of Corruption of Officials and Organized Crime resolved to disable Riera for three months for the “breach of veracity duties” and “falsehood in their statements.”
This within the framework of the case against Silvia Barrera Vásquez and Bruno Pacheco, who was general secretary of former president Pedro Castillo, investigated for the alleged crimes against public administration and illegal sponsorship to the detriment of the State.
“The lawyer Riera Garro has indicated wrong and false assertions that are had and must correct in favor of society, their sponsor and the profession,” adds the resolution, signed by Judge Walther Huayllani Choquepuma.
According to the Court, Riera charged false facts to the judiciary and consigned reckless foundations in his challenge of challenge, which was ordered to register the sanction both at the Lima Bar Association and in the Presidency of the Superior Court of Justice of Lima.
It has also been ordered that Silvia Barrera Vásquez present a new lawyer to face his case.
