Law seeks to create a relief fund for Dominicans in the diaspora

Several deputies from abroad of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) deposited, via the General Legislative Secretariat, the bill that creates the Aid Fund for Dominicans Abroad (Fade).

The representatives of different foreign communities said that with the initiative they seek the Dominican State to develop actions and programs that help Dominicans living in the United States and other latitudes, so that they can improve their quality of life, as well as strengthen their links with the Dominican Republic and their communities of origin.

“The Aid Fund for Dominicans Abroad (Fade) is created, as an organization that contributes to promoting the economic and social development of the diaspora, through the implementation of programs and actions that allow generating access to quality services. and face the multiple problems faced by Dominicans abroad”, establishes the project.

In article four of the legislative project, the deputy explains the legal nature, establishing that the Fade will be a state entity, decentralized, with administrative and financial autonomy, its own assets, with legal personality and the capacity to contract rights and obligations.

“El Fade will allocate the funds collected to meet the needs of Dominicans abroad who demonstrably do not have the necessary resources to pay for the services required for their subsistence,” it stipulates.

In one of its recitals, the initiative, proposed by the deputies from abroad, affirms that it is the duty of the State to promote the well-being and quality of life of Dominican citizens, both in the national territory and abroad.
