The former president of Bolivia, Jorge Tuto Quiroga, arrived Tuesday night at the department of Santa Cruz to demonstrate their support for the regional demand to carry out the Population and Housing Census in 2023. This Wednesday, from the home of civic leader Rómulo Calvo, he suggested that legislators create a bill set the date for the national survey for next year.

“What we suggest is that parliament is not absent. If (Luis) Arce doesn’t feel like making a decree, then make a bill, the law is worth more than the decree, the law kills the decree or makes up for the lack of a decree. It is time for Congress to act,” Quiroga said.

The former authority urged the new president of Deputies, Jerges Mercado (MAS), to reflect on the needs of his land and act in favor of Santa Cruz, in his capacity as a Santa Cruz. In that sense, He also addressed the parliamentarians of Cree, from the sides of Luis Fernando Camacho and Jhonny Fernández, and to the Citizen Community (CC) bench.

“Honor the sacrifice of the people, Congress is not absent. Prioritize the following. The bill, put it to a vote and let’s see who is with a Bolivia with a census and wants peace, “he insisted.

Quiroga’s proposal comes this Wednesday, November 9, when Santa Cruz meets 19 days of indefinite strike with no signs of reaching an agreement with the Government, since the results of the technical tables of Trinidad (Beni) ratified the census in 2024.

“They postponed two more years to finish the mandate without showing a clean register, or distributing resources or reallocating seats”expressed Quiroga, emphasizing that it is a political decision of the ruling party, which lacks technical justification.
