Law is promulgated that declares the industrialization, commercialization and export of citrus fruits of national interest

Through Law No. 31484, it is declared of public necessity and national interest the industrialization, commercialization and of citrus.

In this sense, the rule, published today in El Peruano, indicates which institutions will have to coordinate the required measures and actions.

“The Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation coordinates with the Ministry of Production, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism, with regional and local governments, as well as with public and private organizations involved, the adoption of measures and actions necessary for the implementation of this law”, mention the document.

It is worth mentioning that at the beginning of May, the Plenary of Congress approved the opinion that proposed declaring the promotion, industrialization, commercialization and export of citrus fruits of national interest and public necessity.

The objective of this proposal is to promote the efficient economic, technical, industrial and export development of the citrus sector.
