The deputy of the National Assembly (AN), Emilio José Colina, member of the Permanent Commission of Security and Defense of the Nation, was a special guest in the program “Al Aire”, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), and pointed out in relation to the Second Discussion of the Organic Law Project for the Integration, Equality and Comprehensive Development of people with disabilities, that “This project is called to strengthen social policies that guarantee the most efficient integration in the productive process of people with disabilities ”.
Colina indicated that said bill is the result of a ten-year effort, of collective development, of a content of regulations that help and protect people with disabilities, supported by social movements, the National Council of People with Disabilities (Conapdis) , the José Gregorio Hernández Mission, and other entities of the Venezuelan State.

“A broad debate process was generated to elevate the current law for people with disabilities, which has been in force since 2007, into an Organic Law,” explained the deputy.
He recalled that, in 2016, prosecutor Tarek William Saab presented a proposal for an Organic Law to the AN, which was rejected by the right, which was a majority at that time in the Assembly.
