In a high-level diplomatic contact held this Saturday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergei Lavrov, and the Executive Vice President of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, held a telephone conversation to address the serious situation that the Caribbean country is going through, after the United States attack against several Venezuelan cities.
During the dialogue, Foreign Minister Lavrov transmitted a message of firm solidarity on behalf of President Vladimir Putin, addressed to both the people and the Venezuelan Government, condemning the recent armed aggression and reiterating Russia’s unwavering support for the sovereign course of the Bolivarian Revolution.
The Russian diplomat emphasized that Moscow maintains its constant commitment to Caracas’ efforts to safeguard its territorial integrity and national interests against foreign intervention.
Both senior officials agreed on the critical importance of stopping the escalation of tensions that threatens to destabilize the region, underscoring the shared position that any solution to the conflict must go exclusively through diplomatic channels and constructive dialogue. In this sense, Lavrov and Rodríguez reaffirmed that the solution must be based on absolute respect for international law, rejecting unilateral forceful actions that violate continental peace.
The conversation also served to ratify the will of both nations to continue deepening their comprehensive strategic partnership. This bond, based on the principles of mutual respect and technical, political and energy cooperation, is strengthened in this scenario of aggression, consolidating Russia as a fundamental ally of Venezuela in the defense of its self-determination.
With this support, the Bolivarian Government reinforces its position on the international stage while demanding the cessation of hostilities and the restitution of institutional legality.
