Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi (one game) and his club’s defender Alessandro Bastoni (two games) were suspended on Tuesday, while Lautaro Martinez (Inter) and Theo Hernandez (AC Milan) were fined, after the tense moments at the end of Saturday’s ‘Derby della Madonnina’.
In that match, AC Milan came from behind to win 2-1 against leader Inter Milanto which he approached just one point in the Italian Serie A standings.
Inzaghi was punished, in addition to that match suspension, with a fine of 15,000 euros (17,125 dollars) for having “approached the referee, uttering seriously disrespectful expressions against him,” details the Italian league.
Bastoni was punished with two games for “an insulting expression against the referees, repeating that attitude on two occasions,” according to the statement.
The fine to Argentine Lautaro Martínez will be 10,000 euros (11,415 dollars) for insulting Frenchman Theo Hernández in the last minutes of the derby, when he was leaving the pitch after being sent off.
Theo Hernández was punished with a fine of 5,000 euros ($5,700). for “having adopted a provocative attitude towards rival fans”.
