Launch of Vaccination Week in the Americas 2022

The Ministry of Health announced this Wednesday the start of the “Vaccination Week of the Americas 2022” in which it contemplates vaccinating against polio, measles, rubella to the child population from 1 to 5 years of age, with a view to maintaining the control and eradication of these diseases in the country.

Leading the launch event, the Minister of Public healthDaniel Rivera, explained that “the scheme of vaccination it is a very clear standard in children and it is duly established” and on this occasion it is contemplated to immunize 951,554 children via 1,420 vaccination centers scattered throughout the national geography with 4,080 doctors and nurses at the service of the population.

Dr. Ronveaux raised the idea that each citizen has a QR code in which the entire history of vaccination with their dates to have in one place the complete immunization plan of each person.

For her part, Dr. Vargas indicated that in addition to the permanent posts, these preventive actions will also be carried out in the Early Childhood Comprehensive Care Centers (CAIPI), house-to-house and mobile posts strategically located in remote areas of all the country.
