Launch of the Venezuelan Educational Quality Observatory

This Friday, at the Andrés Bello National House of Letters, in Caracas, the Venezuelan Educational Quality Observatory was launched, which is a scientific Research Space, for the development of educational policies in the country.

During the activity, the Minister for Education, Yelitze Santaella, said that, with this Observatory, Venezuela is, once again, at the forefront and assumes this challenge of transforming national education.

The Minister for Education welcomed the initiative and pointed out that Venezuela will be an open school for the world.

“Venezuela is open to the world, it opens its arms to receive any delegation that wants to come to see and investigate the processes that are taking place here,” he stressed.

He also stressed that education is the social and productive engine par excellence in the country, for which he recalled that 17 years ago Venezuela was declared free of illiteracy as one of the main achievements of the Bolivarian Revolution.

For his part, the Russian ambassador to Venezuela, Sergey Mélik-Bagdasárov, expressed his joy at the inclusion of other languages ​​in the Venezuelan educational program, an initiative that will facilitate the learning of students who choose to obtain scholarships, in the Federation Russian.

In addition, the Russian ambassador reported that the Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho Foundation (Fundayacucho) opened the call for Russian language studies to 40 students, with professors from one of the best Russian universities.

Meanwhile, the resident coordinator of the United Nations System in Venezuela, Gianluca Rampolla, reiterated the UN’s willingness and commitment to continue working together in the task of guaranteeing inclusive, equitable and quality education.

Gianluca Rampolla expressed his astonishment at the commitment of the 500 university and high school students who participated in the launch of the Venezuelan Model of the United Nations.

“I was impressed by the level of articulation, intellectual sophistication, commitment and their passion”, he highlighted.

Finally, it meant that “quality education is the essential engine for sustainable development in its different dimensions to achieve economic progress.”
