After yesterday those affected by the massive poisoning with diethylene glycol were treated by health authorities and the Social Security Fund (CSS), this morning, the director of the entity, Enrique Lu Cortés, referred to the demands of these victims and I assure you that there is a specialist to evaluate the files and be able to certify them.
Cortés said that this is a technical process carried out by specialists who will determine if the people were affected or not and require the benefit of the heritable lifetime pension of $800.
He assured that this process is carried out because there are people who are not affected by diethylene glycol and want to be certified as victims without having the evidence in the files.
“There is everything in the man’s villa, there are people who have actually been affected and there are many who have not been and who somehow want to push us to rule on something that we did not find in the files,” he said.
For the month of June, health authorities and other ministries such as the Presidency, Housing, Economy and Finance will meet again with those affected by this syrup, as reported yesterday by Gabriel Pascual, president of the Diethylene Glycol Victims Committee.

This Thursday morning, Lau Cortés also spoke about the continuity of the dialogue table by the CSS, he assured that by July they must receive a preliminary report of what they have found in this table, information that will serve to prepare proposals related to the sustainability of the pension fund, the administration of the entity, economic benefits in the maternity and disability fund, the payment of pregnancy subsidies and the affiliation of workers who do not pay social security.
He added that they are receiving a series of proposals and recommendations to analyze them and then submit them to the executive.

Lau Cortés was also approached on the subject of the request for physical records when a person goes to the entity to receive care. He was blunt in reiterating that it is not mandatory to show this printed document since the CSS has a verification system so that they can check whether the patient has social security or not.
“No one should require a file to be able to provide the services to the insured”, by asking users to formally denounce those who require this role since it is a bad practice that they want to eradicate from the entity.
