The Venezuelan centers of the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO) issued a statement to reject a new climbing of the United States government against Venezuela and specifically denounce the reward offered by the United States to obtain information about President Nicolás Maduro, under accusations that qualify as “unfounded” related to alleged leadership of drug cartels.
This action is part of the recent American authorization of the use of military force against drug trafficking organizations in Latin America, which academics interpret as a dangerous escalation towards direct intervention.
Academics remember that Venezuela has faced for 26 years a constant siege that includes attempts at coup, economic war, fourth generation media campaigns, frustrated assassination plans and the theft of national assets abroad, as well as the unilateral coercive measures imposed by Washington, which have systematically violated the fundamental rights of the Venezuelan people to health, food, education, education and peace, as it details the document.

In these times, victims of imperial violence have a Palestinian face. The genocide and dispossession of the lands of an entire people, which today we witness with impotence and pain, takes place for political indolence inherent to the prevailing world order and by the silent gaze of multilateral organisms.
This cruel process is part of a plan that is related to other neocolonial and neo -fascist aggressions, such as those that are imposed on the movements of liberation and sovereignty in the African continent, in Cuba or in Haiti and in any territory of economic and geopolitical interest of the hegemons of turn.
Venezuela has lived these last 26 years under constant siege through attempts of coups, economic war, fourth generation media wars, frustrated magnicides, theft of our assets abroad and imposition of criminals unilateral coercive measures that have undermined our right to health, food, education and peace.
From our diverse critical positions and analysis, we warn about a new climbing of the US government against Venezuela, against our sovereignty, our independence tradition and our popular dignity. As has been denounced from multiple spaces, a military action against Venezuela not only attempts against peace in Venezuela, but would shake regional balance with the consequent social, economic, military and political repercussions typical of an armed conflict.
If the economic war, the internal political tensions, the attempts of intervention by mercenary forces, the psychological intimidation and the symbolic disqualification of our gentilicio has not broken the democratic will of the Venezuelan people or their ability to resist, the disrespectful and grotesque reward offered by the US government for the information that leads to the capture of President Nicolás Maduro mature mature. Moors, under the unfounded accusation of leading an alleged drug sign, coupled with the recent authorization for the use of military force against drug cartels in Latin America.
The unstoppable offensive of the US imperialist government and this new threat against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela threatens the will to keep Latin America and the Caribbean as a peace zone, repeatedly expressed in the mechanisms and instances of sovereign cooperation and solidarity that have been built in the region, such as CELAC. The stability and balance of a crucial region for the support of world balance cannot be outside our academic concerns and our militant action for fair causes.
From most Venezuelan Clicso centers we express our commitment to the defense of our sovereignty. Therefore, we call on the urgent defense of peace and the self -determination of the Venezuelan people who decided to build a future that defends the independence for which we fight with ardor and heroism more than two hundred years ago.
Peace in Venezuela is the peace of the region, and peace in the region is necessary for peoples to glimpse, without fear, their place in a viable, democratic and equal world. That the face of victims of imperial military violence is not also Venezuelan.
