On September 8 and 9 of this year, the Seventh Latin American Risk Congress (CLAR) will be held in Santa Cruz, in which representations from 15 countries will participate, Asoban announced. The face-to-face event will take place in a scenario in which financial risks will intensify in severity and impactFelaban anticipated.

CLAR is “the most important risk analysis congress” in Latin America. During the last six years, it brought together more than 1,400 participants from the financial sector from 15 countries and was attended by more than 100 speakers from various parts of the world, reported the Association of Private Banks of Bolivia (Asoban), which organizes the event together with the Latin American Federation of Banks (Felaban).

The risks managed by financial entities will intensify in severity and in financial impact in the medium term. The CLAR 2022 Congress will analyze what specific risks could materialize and how risk managers will be able to stay one step ahead in a volatile and uncertain environment,” Felaban said.

“The transformation of risk management at an accelerating pace is evident. The threats to the sector are continuous and new risks are expected to appear over time, requiring the adoption of new models”, affirmed the president of Asoban, Ronald Gutiérrez,

The meeting, which will take place at the Los Tajibos hotel, is aimed at managers from the financial and non-financial risk management areas, as well as managers and analysts from the financial planning and treasury areas.

“The Congress will consider as part of its thematic axes: climate risk and sustainability, cybersecurity risk management and aspects related to the continuity of the business in the risk areas”, said Nelson Villalobos, executive secretary of Asoban.

This meeting will collect the economic perspectives, the main trends in financial risk managementas well as issues related to other non-financial risks”, said Giorgio Trettenero, general secretary of Felaban.
